Pier Facilities
The PETROCI Pier facilities consist of:
- Two (2) oil docks located on the east bank of the Vridi Canal;
- One (1) 28 km pipe network connecting the docks to the refinery (SIR and
SMB), at the various oil depots (GESTOCI, SHELL, SIFAL, AGIP, MOBIL), at the CIE thermal power station and at the SIAP oil dock.
The two (2) quays allow vessels to be received:
- Unloading for import operations towards the SIR, the SMB and the oil depots;
- And loading for export operations, from the SIR and the SMB
• The pipe network , for its part, allows petroleum products to be transported:
- From the SIR and the SMB to the PETROCI and SIAP docks for loading ships for export operations;
- Vessels to SIR, SMB and oil depots for unloading for import operations.
Thus, almost all (around 90%) of petroleum products, intended for the national market, for export and import, pass through PETROCI pipes; making it the only transporter of petroleum products by pipeline. Furthermore, it should be noted that the reception of butane imported for national needs can only be done at the PETROCI quay which has equipment for this purpose. It is then easy to understand the strategic importance of the PETROCI Pier installations in the national and sub-regional economy.
