Clarke Energy is a multinational specialist in distributed power generation solutions. Our Nigerian headquarters are located in Ikeja, Lagos and we have a branch office in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. Our capabilities range from the supply of a gas or diesel-fuelled power generation engine, through to the turnkey installation of a multi-engine power plant. Clarke Energy is the authorised distributor and service provider for INNIO Jenbacher reciprocating gas and diesel engines in Nigeria with a strong focus on after sales support. Clarke Energy’s relationship with Jenbacher and in-country resources gives us an ability to provide unparalleled service and maintenance, along with local supply of original equipment manufacturer approved spare parts.
In 2019, Clarke Energy opened an assembly plant in Lagos for Kohler SDMO diesel generator sets in order to improve the costs and availability in Nigeria. The assembled diesel gensets are distributed to a network of dealership with special focus on after-sales support to the customers.
Since our Nigerian operations started in 1999 Clarke Energy’s installation base of engines has steadily increased to become the fastest growing power generation supplier in the region. Our locally based team have delivered >415MW of electrical generation capacity to many large industrial facilities across Nigeria, seeking economical, reliable captive power plants. Clarke Energy is also able to deliver multi-engine power plants for independent power producers, and supplied one of Nigeria’s first gas-fuelled IPP facilities at Akute Power for Oando.
Our company’s focus on localisation is an important component of our success in Nigeria. The company employs >100 Nigerian nationals, trained to the highest international standards with product-specific training in Europe. The reliability and fuel efficiency of INNIO Jenbacher gas engines have proven to be important factors in a region where a stable power supply is crucial for future development.
Clarke Energy is also able to offer renewable energy and waste treatment solutions using biogas, landfill gas and sewage gas as a renewable fuel for gas engines. Gas engines can be combined with other technologies such as storage, wind and solar power for hybrid power generation.
