The name Tayanna comes from an ancient Aztec civilization in South America, where “tayanna” was used when referring to a ray of sunshine. The atmosphere in and around the mining town of Tete in North-western Mozambique is very hot and dusty from all the construction activity, and with our beautiful baobab perfectly placed outside our offices receiving the first rays of light in the morning, the name Tayanna was born. With an industry leading safety record, we are a civil and mining contractor of choice, who boast a solid reputation for delivering complex projects in challenging environments. Our biggest contract to date is SYRAH, where Tayanna was nominated the Mining Contractor on the largest Graphite Mine in the World. SYRAH is also our largest value contract, set at over US$ 36 Million.
